Grain Bowl Basics

Hey there. Wanna know more about the bowls I've been making?
You've probably heard the terms grain bowl, Buddah bowl, power bowl, rainbow bowl, or nourish bowl. So what do these mean?
Grain bowls are a grain based meal containing (you guessed it) a grain base, protein, vegetables, and toppings/sauces.
Buddah bowls are a vegetarian meal, served cold, with small portions of several different foods, similar to grain bowls.
Power bowls are focused on high protein "power foods" like beans, greens, nuts, good fats (like avacados).
Rainbow bowls are very similar to all of the above bowls, but focus on varying the colors in your bowl, which will likely increase the amount of veggies you eat.
Nourish bowls, or Macro bowls, are meals built around a balance of good fats, proteins, carbs, and vegetables.

I am not a nutrionist, I'm just a girl who likes to throw stuff together and see what happens. I like making bowls because it can be a great way to clear out the pantry and the vegetable drawer at the same time.

The chart below is a simple guide to making Grain Bowls. There are so many combinations of ingredients to make your own. This chart doesn't even come close to covering all of the ingredients you could include. Its just a visual to show you what you can include. Make it your own!
